OUT NOW: SOPHIA KENNEDY NEW ALBUM MONSTERS

Today Baltimore-born Hamburg-based Sophia Kennedy releases her second album Monsters on City Slang. Monsters sounds like a soundtrack to a world disintegrating, hanging on by a thread of memories, it combines the glamour and the morbid charm of tin pan alley show tunes from the 1960s or ‘70s while fully embracing the deconstructed modernism of club music. To mark the album’s release, Sophia has shared a beautifully melancholy video she directed for the track “Seventeen,” using old camcorder footage she recorded as a teenager.
