Joseph (CH)

Born in the UK and raised in Switzerland, Joseph’s earliest musical memories were backseat car rides shaped by his mother’s R&B and soul CDs. Through adolescence, he found his footing on a skateboard, mostly accompanied by hip hop and the occasional post-punk Joy Division tune if the mood was right.

At the age of 16, he relocated to the mountains, where his peers introduced him to left-field electronica. Weekend trips to Zurich were common—once stumbling into a smoke-filled shed and leaving many hours later, definitively marking his first electronic experience. The lingering euphoria and slight amnesia led him to discover new floors, varying from ambient all the way to psytrance safe havens, secluded in the mountain forests.

In 2020, he started his first beats with a high school friend and his guitar. School was coming to an end, and a global pandemic was on the horizon—the perfect time to isolate and make music. No prior DJ experience, no concern for the receiving end. Isolation gave way to field recordings from long walks, hazy ambient takes, laying the groundwork for a sound that focused more on feeling than functionality.

He started releasing bootlegs on SoundCloud around 2023, catching the ears of some noteworthy selectors. Since then, he has offered a few serious tunes, carving out his own distinctive space for a story to unfold.
